Genting Casino Review
While Genting might not be the first name to jump from the lips of UK gamblers, this company can count on massive resources that stretch across the globe. The possessions of the Genting Group include several of London's premier gambling establishments (Crockfords amongst them), plus the sizeable Star City complex in Birmingham, the UK's largest land casino. The company also owns a glittering array of land casinos across Asia (including a number in its home country, Malaysia), and in the USA. All in all, then, Genting is possibly the best-known name you're not aware of even knowing.
The site underwent quite a transformation in 2012, and the interface was radically overhauled to make it easier to navigate. The main categories now have dedicated sections, so you can go straight to the Roulette page, for instance, rather than having to flick through pages of irrelevant games to find the one you really want. Other sections include Slots, Table Games, Blackjack, Video Poker, and Arcade Games. The separate GentingBet site adds sports betting.
Not that this selectivity leads to a paucity of options, and Genting's suite of Playtech games is stupendous. Roulette generally gets two, three or, possibly, four different variants on an online casino. Genting, though, offers a ravishing 19 different versions! Admittedly, there is plenty of repetition, so you get two different versions of French roulette, for instance, and two of the European variety. However, the sheer choice makes it impossible not to find a game that brings a new freshness to the historic wheel. Three Wheel Roulette lets you spin on three tables simultaneously, while the Multi Wheel Roulette game allows you to expand this to as many as six wheels. The 3D Roulette game gives you a more exciting take on the usual in-game graphics, while the Double Bonus Spin and Marvel Roulette versions enhance gameplay with a string of exciting bonuses and surprises. Of course, if it's just plain roulette you want, Genting has some of the best and most convincing 'classic' versions we've seen. You can download the full software suite to see the titles in all their glory, although you can play these games in the browser as well. In short, Genting is an absolute feast for roulette addicts, with some of the very best graphics and slickest gameplay available.
Playtech's name is a guarantee that the Live Dealer games will be of high quality, and the choice of tables, strong chatting, and excellent video creates an exhilarating atmosphere. The company's very good for mobile gaming too, and Genting rolls out some slick renditions of many of its games - including a crisp version of roulette.
Bonuses and Points
Like many of its competitors, Genting keeps you glued with a combination of bonus bets and points systems. The 100% Welcome bonus allows new users to double initial deposits of up to £175. The deposit plus bonus needs to be turned over 20 times before you can withdraw the money, and up to 50% of roulette money contributes to this amount. Second deposits of up to £100 get an extra 50% added on top - here the bonus itself must be played through 40 times before withdrawal.
Once you've gone through these introductory bonuses, Genting's main bait will be through its Points system, which allows you to accumulate points as you play, and to eventually turn those into extra money. There's also a VIP club, which hands out gifts and promotions. However, apart from a few jackpots offered during holiday seasons, and the odd weekend treat, Genting does perhaps lack the procession of bonuses that hold the attention of everyday users.
Wide Customer Support, Narrow Payment Options
As befits a company with Genting's clout, its customers are very well catered for. 24-7 support is laid on, and Live Chat is offered alongside phone (with a cost-cutting callback option) and email support. The player limits feature is excellent, giving players full control over their gambling habits.
One slight fly in the ointment concerns the slim list of payment options. The top-notch e-wallet services, Neteller and Skrill, have been ditched, as have alternatives like Ukash, Click2Buy and ClickandPay. These days, credit and debit cards seem a rather slow and cumbersome way of depositing money with gaming services, so it's a shame to see such a large company stepping back towards the dark ages.
We're not very pleased with Genting's poor deposit options, but otherwise this is a superb site. The choice of games is massive, and Genting's clout adds trust. More bonuses would be nice, but overall this is a very rewarding experience.
