What is Double Action Roulette?

What makes roulette extremely fun isn’t just about the huge potential earnings a player can draw out from it but also of its different variations. It’s like your favourite food that comes in various flavors! If you can remember in this post we revealed to you some interesting roulette game versions found on the Internet. Meanwhile, this article dishes out the more common roulette game variations like the European, American and French roulette.

In this particular post, we are going to introduce yet another exciting variation of the beloved roulette game – the Double Action Roulette.

First shown in the public at the 2012 Global Gaming Expo, the Double Action Roulette was a proprietary game of TCS John Huxley. It can be played on the company’s Mark VII Roulette Wheel.

What makes it a cut above the rest is that the game can deliver two winning numbers from just a single spin. This is done by using two rings of numbers which spin independently from each other. Per the usual, a ball will be tossed by the dealer which will land in a fret sitting between the two rings.

The player now has the option to bet on the outcome derived from either of the rings or both.

Layout of the Game

As already stated above, Double Action Roulette utilizes two rings of numbers. Between the outer and the inner ring of numbers lies the frets where the ball would settle into. Please see screenshot of an example of a Double Action Roulette wheel.

According to TCS John Huxley, the game is further available in single-zero as well as in single and double-zero roulette versions.

The details found in the betting table for Double Action Roulette correspond to that of the wheel such that it consists of two identical betting areas. Each area of the betting layout accommodates bets for either of the two sets of number on the wheel. In addition to the two major areas, there are other betting layouts like the Double Action Track which, for the love of money, pays up to a whopping 1200 to 1!

See picture of a betting layout below:

Game Rules

Contrary to what you might expect, there aren’t any complicated rules involved when playing Double Action roulette. Rest assured, even a beginner roulette player will get the hang of this new game variant in no time.

Same as the usual, players would place their wagers until the dealer calls off the process. Once the ball settles into one of the frets, the winning numbers will be announced, or in this case, the table will illuminate on both betting areas.

After the croupier identifies and puts a mark on the winning numbers, he will then move any Double Action bets to the rim of the wheel. He will then sweep the Double Action Track, moving to the farthest area of the wheel (area “B”) and that which is close to the wheel (area “A”).

Types of Bets and Payouts

There are two major ring bets to be made in this game: Single Ring Bets and Double Ring Bets.

Single Ring Bets

These bets can be made on either the inner or outer rings as well their corresponding payouts.

  • Straight up: 1 number; pays 35 to 1.
  • Split: 2 numbers; pays 17 to 1
  • Corner Bet: four numbers; pays 8 to 1
  • Street Bet: six numbers; pays 5 to 1
  • Line bet: twelve numbers; pays 2 to 1

Double Ring Bets

These bets work on parlays, wherein the player must win BOTH on both rings

  • Single number; pays 1200 to 1
  • Two red, Black, Odd, Even, 1 – 18, 19 – 36; pays 3 to 1
  • First, second, third dozen; pays 8 to 1
  • First eight numbers in double-zero format (0, 00, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6); pays 18 to 1
  • First seven numbers in single-zero format (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6); pays 25 to 1

More Fun Facts and Interesting Stories About Roulette

Roulette is probably one of the coolest games that you’ll ever come across with when you play in a casino, online or offline. It has that lasting appeal to both first-time players and seasoned gamblers. The game itself has been around for ages and thus it shouldn’t come as a big surprise if you could hear interesting stories or fun facts about it.

Below is a list detailing more roulette facts and trivias that you might not have known yet or have missed out. Sound off in the comments if you want something to be added. Otherwise, enjoy!

  1. The ball (which is called a “pill”) used in a live online casino roulette game or in a land-based casino is made of white or ivory delrin material. The pill comes in various sizes depending on the wheel where it is used. The smallest is 3/8 inch in diameter and is paired to a 12-inch wheel. The biggest is ¾ inch diameter which is being used in roulette wheels measuring 27 in. to 32 inches.

  2. The transparent object used by croupiers to mark the winning number on the roulette betting layout is called the “dolly.” It typically measures around 70mm tall and 30mm in diameter. It is made of clear acrylic. Meanwhile, that stick dealers use to rake the chips is called a telescopic chip rake. This comes in various materials like plastic or metal but the latter brings out a more luxurious feel.
  3. The “pockets” on the wheel where the ball lands into are separated via what is called “frets.” Most frets are designed to be extra springy so that the ball bounces off more erratically. However, this setting lends more advantage to those who can easily spot a “loose fret” because it’s easier for them to predict the next winning pocket number.

  4. Speaking of winning pockets, there is a belief among roulette players that when a black number comes up, a red one is highly likely to result in the next spin. Such is not always the case. The truth is, the chance to hit the same color 10 times in a row is only 1 in 1024. There is only 1 incident in the history of roulette gaming where this amazing feat took place and it was in a casino in Bristol, England. The record: Red comes up 36 times in a row.
  5. More roulette winning records: the longest time where a single number hits consecutively is said to have happened at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas. The winning number came up 7 times in a row. The chances for it to occur? 1 in 3 billion. The lucky number? 19.
  6. With real money involved, it’s no wonder that plenty of people would devise illegal ways to beat the house. One of the famous roulette personalities to ever do it successfully is Francis Farrugia. He used what is called a “top-hatting” technique to win millions in roulette games over the course of 20 years before he was apprehended. This illegal method involves a cheat placing his bet after the ball has already landed.
  7. Roulette is probably the only game in a casino where players are shunned, discouraged, or prohibited to bring their drinks at the table. It is not known as to when or where this unwritten rule originated. But casino establishments do closely observe this etiquette that they tell their staff who brings complimentary drinks to revert their paths away from roulette tables. However, it’s a different story when playing in online roulette casinos because you can drink or eat whatever you want while in a game.

More Unusual Roulette Game Versions Found on the Internet

The sky is the limit when you think of the possibilities that can be achieved online. From the three major types of online casino roulette (European, American, French) comes forth a handful of other roulette game versions that some of us may find quite interesting.

Thanks to the rapid development in computing and Internet technology as well as the creativity of game makers, these new breeds of roulette games have the potential to deliver that level of fun and excitement which previously can only be found in the three classic variants.

In a previous post, we pointed out some of the different roulette game variations that are quite popular among online casino players. In the same vein, we will show you once again yet another batch of unique roulette game variants which can only be played online.

Although the name, the format, and other game aspects may greatly differ from what you used to play, these Internet roulette games follow the same objective: to make predictions as to where the ball might land in the roulette wheel.

So, without any further delay, let us get to know more unusual roulette game versions found on the Internet.

The Express Roulette

If you are an online game developer, what rules or aspect of roulette you want to change or improve? In Express Roulette, the developers thought of adding more balls! This particular roulette variety is played with three balls. It is popular among the online casino community because of its increased possibility to place more extra bets. Not only that, the payouts are quite huge which is now up to 210 to 1.

The Mini Roulette

If you think that the rules of a full European or American roulette version is too much to handle, then you might want to take a short repose with the Mini-version of roulette. This special game is most popular among beginners because instead of 37 numbers, there are only 12 but it still includes the zero.

Intermediate to expert players could still find the excitement and profit with the Mini-version as the betting rules are just the same: single numbers, combination of numbers, odd/even, red/black. With only 12 numbers, the chances of winning in the Mini-version is quite higher compared to that of the American roulette.

Alphabetic Roulette

Yup! It’s roulette, but instead of numbers, the game developers opted for letters. To make it even more complicated, the colors are now more than two!

Instead of 36/37, there are 25 slots in the Alphabetic Roulette wheel and table, each signifying the letters from A to X, plus 1 for both Y and Z. And as we said, there are now six colors involved in this game and each consists of four letters. The YZ, being the special kind, is treated like the single zero of a European/American roulette as it has a different color.

It might tickle your curiosity to try the game but the house edge of 4% could quell your appetite for a roulette adventure.

The Chinese Roulette

Since we’re talking about making huge changes in the game’s landscape, let us talk about the Chinese Roulette. Readers might already have an inkling as to what could make the game stand out, and yes, it is still the absence of numbers.

Instead of numbers, this oriental-inspired online roulette game uses the Chinese zodiac signs: Rooster, Dog, Dragon, Tiger, Monkey, Goat, Horse, Rat, Snake, Pig, Ox, and Rabbit. The payout is 11 to 1 and instead of zero, the game displays an eternity sign.

The Pinball Roulette

If you like the concept of combining roulette and bingo into one game, called the Spingo, then you might be interested with the pinball roulette. It’s a clever combination of the two well-loved games.

The most striking feature of this game is that it has no roulette wheel. There is, however, a ball which is launched like you do with a pinball game. It then collides with plenty of obstacles, which changes its course along the way. The result would then be determined as to where the ball lands at the bottom of the field which is divided into several segments numbering from 0 to 35. Like the roulette, the segments are colored red, black and a single green (which is the zero).

These are just the tip of the iceberg. There are still roulette varieties out there which showcase different unique qualities. This post won’t suffice to cover them all. But this gets to show you how diverse this casino game can become. So if you want to add more excitement into your online roulette gaming, all you need to do is to find what floats your boat. You never know what’s in store for you!

Good luck and enjoy!

How to Get the Best Online Roulette Gaming Experience

Among all other games you can find in a casino, roulette is definitely a game that is designed with the player’s entertainment in mind. The thrill and big wins that come along with it makes roulette a very recognizable game both in real life and even in fiction. Given all these desirable features, how can you get the best experience out of every roulette game you play?

Whether you are playing online or offline on American, European, or French version, it’s 100% possible for you to get the most out of every roulette spin. However, to say that you would like to “bust the house,” “break the bank,” or “hack the wheel,” is pretty much a far-fetched goal.

Let us hold this dear truth close to our hearts that online roulette casinos, and its brick and mortar counterpart, always have the edge in every game. More on roulette house edge here.

But should these factors stop you from having the time of your life while earning a dime?

As we thought so, here are some surefire tips to ensure that you get to enjoy your online roulette game, as you should:

Your rhythm, your game

Roulette, in its essence, is simply just about predicting where the ball lands in the roulette wheel. That’s all about it but what makes it beautiful is how the player plays the game. To enjoy it the most, you need to play it by your own style and in your own rhythm.

Just because everyone in a roulette table are betting their arms and legs on each spin, doesn’t mean you have to follow suit. If you feel like going frugal on your bets, then what’s stopping you? The guy next to you can’t dictate how you play your game. This is all about you, your own decision, your own call, that is all that matters.

Player’s strategy is the best strategy

All the roulette betting systems we put up on this website would mean nothing if the player decides to follow his own playing strategy. And for us, it’s the best thing a player could do!

As we constantly remind in our Betting System in Focus article series, a betting strategy that can fully overcome the house edge is yet to be made. We say that if you think you have discovered a good betting system and you deemed it to be effective to use in every online roulette game you play, then by all means, stick to it!

Plan your game ahead

Now when we said that you play your game your way, doesn’t entirely mean that you play recklessly. Just like any endeavour in life, you need to approach the game with a plan when playing online roulette. To play impulsively can be very costly and it could be worse if you’re doing it with a hot head.

Stay on top of your game by setting up a pre-game spending limit. In this previous article we thoroughly discuss how to set losing and winning limits when playing roulette.

Don’t be in a hurry

It’s a marathon, not a sprint when playing online roulette. Sure, betting an entire life savings in an odd bet would certainly get your heart-rate pumping but when you lose it, it’s no fun at all. To risk and lose everything in one spin won’t bring much enjoyment. So our word of advice here is to prolong your game to experience maximum pleasure. Moreover, more game time means more chances of winning.

Do you feel like you have the patience of a saint, then you might want to try using the Oscar’s Grind betting system.

Play online!

What’s the best way to play roulette? We say, doing it in your own turf, right at the comfort of your own home. In a landbased casino, there can be distractions such as people peering over your shoulders, the deafening chatters, the drowning lounge music, etc. Furthermore, when you are in a gambling house, there’s also the tendency where you can spend your money for what you do not intend for.

On the other hand, playing live roulette online can bring you close-to-real-life gaming experience. You can see the roulette wheel spins in real time, you can interact with the croupier, and also, the winnings you can make are real money! If these reasons aren’t enough, how about the fact that you can wear your favourite pajamas into the game without the fear that a security guard will haul you out of the vicinity?

Are you ready to amp up your roulette gaming experience? Head on to these recommended live dealer roulette websites. Enjoy and good luck!

Tips on How to Set Losing and Winning Limits when Playing Roulette

Discipline plays a significant role when you want to have a successful and profitable roulette gameplay session. Regardless if you’re already trailblazing with your hot winning streaks, gambling experts suggest that one must know when to quit. This also works in the opposite side of the scale.

Economics experts Douglas M. Walker, Stephen W. Litvin, Russell S. Sobel, and Rene A. St. Pierre postulated in their study entitled “Setting Win Limits: An Alternative Approach to Responsible Gambling,” that in responsible gambling there needs to be a self-imposed “win limits” on each individual gaming sessions. They found out in the study that players who establish both loss and win limits lost less in their bankroll.

In a previous article, we revealed some Tips on How to Better Manage Your Roulette Bankroll. Today, we are going to tackle the methods on how to effectively set losing and winning limits when playing online casino roulette.

Before we proceed to the meat of this article, let us first be clear that money management is definitely not the key to winning any game. Remember that roulette is a game that is extremely dependent on luck and there’s no possible way to influence the outcome of each spin. However, establishing win goals and loss limits can somehow help you keep from losing more than what your wallet can afford or plunging into an unmanageable circumstance.

So how do we do this?

Simple. We set a stop loss and profit target.

Stop Loss – is the total amount of money from your bankroll that you are willing to lose in a game

Profit Target – is the total amount of money from your winnings, minus the capital

By establishing these limits, a player will be able to take control of what’s coming in and what’s coming out from his bankroll. He can also easily calculate how much was lost or gained on a particular game day. Furthermore, this can help reduce a player’s drive to get greedy when things are getting pretty.

Let’s look at this example:

Suppose the player has a bankroll of £1,000. He setup the limits as follows:

Stop Loss – £250

Profit Target – £250

This means that the player is willing to lose £250 in a single game of roulette. He is, at the same time, hopeful to gain £250 as profit from that same game. Hence, when luck is hard to come by and he already reached his lose limit, he should leave the table. In the same way, if he is winning and was able to hit the £250 profit target, then it’s time for him to stand up.

Setting win and lose limits is sometimes called the “Hit and Run” strategy.

Using with Betting Systems

Betting systems work perfectly well with bankroll management. By knowing when to properly raise and lower your bets or how to choose a game appropriate to your bankroll ensures that you’d have an enjoyable roulette gaming experience every time.

We have a handful of roulette betting systems that might be worth your time to check and learn. We personally recommend roulette betting methods that are of positive progressions. Basically, a player increases the stakes when he wins and decreases when he loses. Examples of which are One Half Up, Paroli, and 1-3-2-6, just to name a few.

This is directly opposite to negative progression systems like Martingale, D’Alembert, Labouchere or the Fibonacci.

No matter how high or how low your limits can be, keep in mind that when playing online roulette, the odds are not often the same and sometimes it works for you, oftentimes it won’t. In short, it’s all but a gamble and the circumstances are beyond your control. However, there are things that you can somehow manage and that is your bankroll.

For such reasons, a wise gambler has a rule: to play and have fun within your limit. Take charge of your playing finances and don’t get too impulsive as to change your limit in the middle of a battle because it might end up badly for you.

Always play safe and good luck!

How to Rake More Profits With Online Roulette

Roulette is a popular casino game that is extremely dependent on luck. There’s no possible way to alter the outcome of each and every roulette wheel spin, at least legally. Given its precarious nature, why are there still a lot of people drawn into the game? Well, the main reason is that it does generate profit.

There are many ways for a player to leave a roulette game with a considerable amount of profit. If you’re like the rest of the novice players, you might opt to just cross your fingers and hope for a one-time big-time payout which, in our opinion, rarely comes by. Or perhaps you are the kind of player who got the patience to grind with small winnings and accumulate them to come up with a large chunk of payroll.

In this article, we give you the best tips on how you can further maximise your profit each time you leave a roulette game.

  1. Always Opt for the Casino with the Lowest House Edge

Time and time again we remind our dear readers to avoid roulette games with ridiculous house edge rate. There are three major variants of online roulette game: European, American, and French. The first two types (American and European) are the most commonly offered games in numerous online roulette websites. Between these two, the European has the lowest casino edge of 2.26%. Whereas, the American roulette game variant gives the house a whopping 5.26% advantage. It goes without saying then that you should opt for European roulette games. However, a French roulette game can also be a good option. Here’s why.

  1. Bet Low

While it’s true that making low bets may not be the most exciting way to play the game, it is, however, the most sustainable strategy that one could adapt, and the reason for that is quite obvious. Firstly, going for bets lower than your bankroll ensures that you can play roulette for much longer. More spins consequently means that you got more chances of winnings.

  1. Stock Up

We heard of players who were at one time racking up with winnings but then in the next moment, were leaving the table empty-handed. In order to prevent this misfortune from happening to you, learn to stock up and put aside your winnings. Know the difference between the money you intend to lose by playing and the cash you hope to gain. Should luck be hard to come by and you don’t come away with your profit goals, most likely you’d be breaking even.

  1. Choose Positive Progressions

Roulette betting systems are there to help players approach gambling in a more structured and systematic way. Although none of these betting methods can trump down the house advantage, they can however, aid the player to reach his objective of producing a profit.

There are two general categories of betting systems. The first is negative progressions and they work in such a way that the player will increase his bets after every loss. Examples are Martingale, Fibonacci, and D’Alembert. The other type is positive progressions where the player is called to bet more when winning and bet less when losing.

Positive progression bets do not typically generate big profits in just a manner of few spins. Although the grind can test one’s patience, these betting techniques prevent the player from running out of funds rather quickly.

  1. Play with the Head not with the Emotions

The greatest advice here is to never play with your emotions out of control. Playing otherwise will surely get you losing grip on the game.

  1. Play in Online Casinos

Aside from the fact that you’re probably be more comfortable when you are in your own turf, playing in online roulette casinos is a much better way to earn extra cash. Most of the casino websites offer great incentives like welcome bonuses, cash back percentage deals, and top-up promos, just to name a few, to their patrons and new members. And yes, these bonuses are for real and you can use them to play and earn more money while enjoying your favourite game of roulette.

Betting System in Focus: The Kesselgucken

Most of the betting systems featured in this site are developed mathematically. This week, however, our Betting System in Focus would involve the physical features of the roulette wheel.

Unlike those famous wagering systems you often hear about, this one right here is not that widely known. Despite of which, we assure you that once you learn this method, you’d be impressed at how your online roulette gameplay has improved.

The Basics of Kesselgucken Roulette Betting System

The Kesselgucken is a product of German ingenuity wherein, as already stated, it differs greatly in terms of use and mechanics when compared to popular betting systems like the Martingale or the Paroli. The term roughly translates to English as “to closely observe the roulette wheel.”

As the phrase suggests, the success of the method relies greatly on how the player pays attention on what is happening before making a move rather than just recall a betting pattern and act accordingly to it.

The Goal of the Method

Sound judgment plus a quick hand are what’s needed to achieve the goal of the Kesselgucken. The player has to get a good feeling as to how the ball lands on the roulette wheel once the croupier releases it. In a matter of just a few seconds, the player must be able to make up a good guess on which pocket the ball will fall into. A bet/bets are then placed as quickly as possible before the dealer makes the announcement that he’s no longer accepting bets. Easier said than done, but it’s possible to pull off the betting trick if the player is willing to put in a lot of practice hours.

How the System Works

There are a lot of factors to consider when using the Kesselgucken act. One would be the speed of the spinning roulette wheel and the initial position of the ball before the croupier drops it. Taken into consideration are also the small obstacles down below the ball track, called the diamonds. They can cause the ball to bounce even more erratically which could, consequently, influence the outcome of the round.

How quickly a player can form his judgment on what number or group of numbers to bet is also of utmost importance when working with the Kesselgucken. This helps because he is basically up against that small fraction of time before the croupier announces “no more bets, please.”

The reason behind the late calls from the player is quite obvious: the later he makes the bet, the easier for him to estimate where the ball lands.

Perfect Pair for the Kesselgucken

Players who are keen to try out this betting system can do it with the French roulette game variant. In a previous article, we mentioned about this version of the game which is pretty much like the European roulette but with additional variety of betting options for the players to make. These are the Voisins du Zero (neighbours of zero), Tiers du Cylindre (the third), and the Orphelins (orphans).

These terms basically just refer to the numbers covered in the three sections of the roulette wheel.

With the Kesselgucken, players can take on these betting combinations which comprise of series of numbers closely located next to each other.

Pros and Cons

Approximation is the bread and butter of the Kesselgucken. Since roulette is a game of chance, the system best serves the player by narrowing down the options for him to take. It literally helps the player predict the outcome accurately, perhaps even with a small fraction of errors.

However, there are technical changes in the gameplay which could thwart the effectiveness of the system. There are land based casinos that are quite strict when it comes to betting calls. They are less likely to put up with roulette players whom they suspect are using the Kesselgucken method.

Furthermore, the system is no good when it comes to Random Number Generated (RNG) online roulette games. In this type of roulette, the outcome is determined not by a physical wheel but by an algorithm. That is why, when playing casino roulette online and you wish to use the Kesselgucken, we strongly recommend doing it in a live dealer roulette.

Tips on How to Better Manage Your Roulette Bankroll

There are a lot of people who have deposited their money into their online casino accounts and for what it’s worth, blow it all up in a matter of hours. Don’t be one of those guys. Losing hard-earned money into a casino game is certainly not a pleasant feeling. At the back of your mind, you want to avoid these scenarios as much as possible.

As a player who loves to play roulette for real money in online casinos should approach this endeavour with full knowledge of the two possible outcomes: winning and losing. But then, not all online casino players are purely after the profits. Some have join in the bandwagon to get their dose of fun or satisfy their cravings for anything that is roulette.

Regardless of which camp you belong, it doesn’t hurt if you have a sound bankroll management system that must practice every time you enter the world of online casino entertainment.

Before we lay down the full details, let it be known that the aim of this article is to provide you with some useful tips for you to better manage your casino bankroll which would, of course, help you get a more enjoyable online roulette playing experience. We do not guarantee 100% that you won’t lose any penny because the risk of losing them is as high as increasing them. What you can do best is to learn the ways on how to minimize these dreadful situations.

Money to Lose (and to Win)

It may sound a bit redundant but the wisdom of this advice is too valuable for it not to be repeated: “Only play with money that you can afford to lose.” Gamblers know in their hearts that once their money are deposited to their casino website account, it becomes paper money – fit only for playing. Although there are players who can manage to earn real cash from playing roulette online, most are bound to lose their funds.

In this case, you need to look into yourself, in all honesty, how much you really can afford to spend at online casinos. If worse comes to its worst and you lose all that money in one sitting, you won’t exactly be worried that your losing streak could affect the other financial aspects of your life like bills and mortgages to pay.

Games to Play

Choose casino games that can offer you a fulfilling and extra-lengthy gaming time. While others may tell you to pick games with low house edge – like Blackjack, craps, or slots, there are versions of online roulette games wherein the mathematical advantage leans more towards the player.

Moreover, popular roulette game versions like American and European roulette variants have betting options that will suit well to level headed players who opt to take moderate risks but expect to get good payouts in return. For instance, an Even Bet and an Odd Bet.

Learn to Stock

Keep in mind to separate your deposit (the money to burn) from your winnings (the money earned). It won’t be easy, especially if you believe you’re on the track, but seasoned casino players know better to divide their winnings from their bankroll.

For you to observe this measure, if possible avoid progressive roulette betting systems like Martingale, Labouchere, D’Alembert, or Fibonacci, to name a few. The reason is that these systems will call you to increase your stakes each time you lose. There are exceptions though, like this 4-step betting strategy wherein you will be forced to take stock after successfully completing the betting cycle.

There are instant payment (e-wallet) services like NETeller or PayPal which allows you to make quick banking methods like withdrawing your winnings.

Control of Emotions

Emotions can make or break almost every aspect in a man’s life. Controlling it can help a player manage his casino bankroll. If let loose, there’s a tendency that a person may play mindlessly as anger or frustration sets in. Bear in mind that in a game like roulette, anything could happen. It’s a game of luck and there’s no way an online casino, represented by the dealer, can influence the outcome of the spin. If luck is really hard to come by, then it’s a call for you to…

Stopping

For a meaningful and worthwhile online casino experience, a player should learn when to stop playing. If you find yourself spending time and money more than what yourself can allow, then you might have a gambling problem. Whether you are winning a lot, it’s best for you to take a break. Chances are, you might lose it all back again if you persist or become too greedy.

As in all aspects of life, discipline is key, especially if you’re playing online roulette.

Top Reasons Why It’s Best to Play Live Dealer Roulette Online

Roulette is arguably one of the most fun casino games a player can ever get his hands with. It’s easy to play and there’s not that much to keep in mind, except of course, the basics of roulette betting. Nevertheless, the simplicity and straightforwardness of the game makes even the most casual of all gamblers reap tons of fun and profit.

A roulette table with casino players

When going online, all these unique qualities of roulette are retained, and dare we say, made even more exciting!

There are two kinds of online roulette gameplay that you can choose from: RNG (Random Number Generated) or Live Roulette. We previously discuss the difference in an earlier article here. But in hopes to put an end on this debate, we have to concur to the consensus that LIVE Roulette is probably the best route to take when you want to play roulette online. Here’s our reasons why.

It Definitely Feels Real

The problem when playing roulette in online casinos is that the element of “realness” diminishes. Among the two aforementioned options, however, live roulette is the most realistic way to play the game when online. It’s popular among players because they feel like they’re playing in a real casino all while sitting comfortably at home.

Another reason is that, you can see the croupier with your own two eyes. Although they can’t see you back in turn, it becomes an advantage for you as you can wear whatever you feel like wearing. You can even play the game in your favourite PJ’s. If you want, you can wear your birthday suit as you spin away for the big win.

Authenticity

If it’s an authentic roulette gaming experience you looking for, live dealer roulette is definitely the best option to take as the game is played exactly like it is meant to be in a land-based casino. Real physical roulette wheel – check! Roulette table – check! Croupier – check!

It’s like you’re sitting or standing in a real roulette table complete with all the fun, thrill, and action that are felt when in a brick and mortar casino. Did we forget to mention the real money you can win? Of course, the cash prizes here are all yours to keep.

If you prefer to have real dealer results rather than rely with those outcomes generated by RNG’s, the live dealer roulette is the perfect choice. You can watch the wheel spins to your fortune (or loss, if lady luck won’t permit) in real time.

Social Aspects

Playing in live dealer roulette is, without a doubt, a social experience. There is a real interaction to be had among players who might come from the different parts of the globe. Is It Really Possible to Win at Roulette, or Is It Just A Waste of Time and Money?

Beginners and expert roulette players would often ask the question, if it’s really possible to win at roulette. Of course, if you are the type of player who just want to hang around in a live roulette room, chatting with the croupier or with other players online, then you would not be minding whether you win or lose. However, a player who looks for fun and profit in every spin may seriously consider his probability of increasing his bankroll.

The Common Consensus

For a mathematician or statistician, roulette is not only difficult to win, but also close to impossible to beat in the long run. Sure, anyone has the chance to win at online roulette with a couple of games or more. But even these lucky ones may admit that they cannot hold on to their profit for too long.

If there’s anyone who can speak with great magnitude of truth in this universe, it would be Albert Einstein. And he supposedly once said: “No one can win at roulette unless he steals money from the table while the croupier isn’t looking.”

What he meant by this is that, there’s absolutely no mathematical trick that a person can use to win at roulette. Remember, we always said that each spin is part of an “independent trial process;” there’s no way that the previous outcome will influence the next result.

But then again, there are some people whom you might expect less to offer a much realistic answer to the question: can you beat roulette?

The Dealers

These hardworking casino employees believe that roulette can definitely be beaten. However, strict and rare playing conditions must be factored in. For example, in a brick and mortar casino, croupiers may refer to what is called the “wheel bias.” Basically, it is the physical defect of the roulette wheel which makes some numbers come up more often than the others.

Being in the frontline, dealers are also trained to spot professional roulette players who may go beyond what the prescribed gaming rules dictate and exploit these “glitches.” They work with casino consultants who provided them with the necessary training that could help them pick out these kinds of people in crowd.

Generally, croupiers have first-hand observation on how a game of roulette goes. For them, unless luck is really hard to come by, then it’s always possible to win the game.

The Pit Bosses

These nonchalant, frigid-looking individuals roam around the casino floor to oversee how the roulette tables are going. In land-based casinos, they monitor disputes, spot violations, and even check on how the dealers do their jobs. They make sure things are running smoothly.

When it comes to the probability of winning roulette, they might swear on what the dealers have to say. As long as the players follow the house rules, there’s always a chance for them to win the game.

The Casino Proprietors

A lot of casino owners lack knowledge about the games their establishments are offering. For them, their casino is nothing but a source of income. Their main concern is how they could bring in more people into their house and make money from them. But for the big boss who likes to get his hands dirty, every game, every player, every personnel, matters.

Hands-on owners, like the rest of his crew, may also believe that anyone has the chance to take home big roulette wins. However, it would be illogical for them to invest into a business where he shares an equal chance of loss or gain with his patrons. His house needs to lock in profits on top of the gross income. Otherwise, it won’t take long for him to file a bankruptcy. He needs to earn money and this is where things get complicated.

The House Edge

So, from where the casino mine its income? The House Advantage. The game, whether it is a European roulette wheel or an American roulette variant, doesn’t pay what your bets are worth. For example, in American roulette, there are 38 numbers in total (1 to 36, a single zero, and a double zero). The odds of hitting a straight up bet would be 37 to 1. However, if the player wins, the house only pays 35 to 1. A similar case happens on other combination bets. This little, yet highly significant discrepancy is the casino’s edge against the player; this is also what keeps these businesses up and running. You may always win but it’s still impossible to absolutely “break the bank.”

Should this fact stop you from playing online roulette? Absolutely not! Because even if this is the case, “the house can’t stop you from winning.”
