What makes roulette extremely fun isn’t just about the huge potential earnings a player can draw out from it but also of its different variations. It’s like your favourite food that comes in various flavors! If you can remember in this post we revealed to you some interesting roulette game versions found on the Internet. Meanwhile, this article dishes out the more common roulette game variations like the European, American and French roulette.
In this particular post, we are going to introduce yet another exciting variation of the beloved roulette game – the Double Action Roulette.
First shown in the public at the 2012 Global Gaming Expo, the Double Action Roulette was a proprietary game of TCS John Huxley. It can be played on the company’s Mark VII Roulette Wheel.
What makes it a cut above the rest is that the game can deliver two winning numbers from just a single spin. This is done by using two rings of numbers which spin independently from each other. Per the usual, a ball will be tossed by the dealer which will land in a fret sitting between the two rings.
The player now has the option to bet on the outcome derived from either of the rings or both.
Layout of the Game
As already stated above, Double Action Roulette utilizes two rings of numbers. Between the outer and the inner ring of numbers lies the frets where the ball would settle into. Please see screenshot of an example of a Double Action Roulette wheel.
According to TCS John Huxley, the game is further available in single-zero as well as in single and double-zero roulette versions.
The details found in the betting table for Double Action Roulette correspond to that of the wheel such that it consists of two identical betting areas. Each area of the betting layout accommodates bets for either of the two sets of number on the wheel. In addition to the two major areas, there are other betting layouts like the Double Action Track which, for the love of money, pays up to a whopping 1200 to 1!

Game Rules
Contrary to what you might expect, there aren’t any complicated rules involved when playing Double Action roulette. Rest assured, even a beginner roulette player will get the hang of this new game variant in no time.
Same as the usual, players would place their wagers until the dealer calls off the process. Once the ball settles into one of the frets, the winning numbers will be announced, or in this case, the table will illuminate on both betting areas.
After the croupier identifies and puts a mark on the winning numbers, he will then move any Double Action bets to the rim of the wheel. He will then sweep the Double Action Track, moving to the farthest area of the wheel (area “B”) and that which is close to the wheel (area “A”).
